Cloudscape Ceiling Baffle (CSBF15P) 4’x2′ x 1.5″
Acoustics First® adds more ways to get ‘Baffled’ and improve large room acoustics.
Acoustics First® has ‘amped up’ the Cloudscape® line of ceiling baffles. These acoustical baffles reduce reverberation in applications such as gymnasiums, auditoriums, performance venues, theaters and restaurants. They can be suspended from open truss and pre-engineered suspension systems or alternatively mounted direct to a roof deck or wall. In addition to the standard 4’x2′ x1.5″ PVC encapsulated ‘echo-nomical’ baffle, Acoustics First® has expanded the selection to include three alternate finishes. If you wish to upgrade the size of the standard PVC Cloudscape® Ceiling Baffle, we now have a 2″ thick option available in sizes up to 4’x10′, with some limitations. If you wish to upgrade the finish, you can choose the durable rip-stop nylon sailcloth, product code CSBF2S with 9 color choices. If sailcloth doesn’t ‘float your boat’, choose the fabric encapsulated Cloudscape® Baffle. The CSBF2F is encapsulated in a sewn Guilford of Maine® FR701® fabric and will coordinate with the Sonora® ridgid acoustical wall panels. The acoustical ceiling baffles are extended even further with an offering of exterior grade fabric for outdoor applications. Overall, you now have 4 choices of baffle configurations, more sizes and 96 finish options. Additionally, all the 2″ thick options use environmentally friendly Ecose® glass fiber. Custom Cut Sonora Acoustical Wall panels
Like the dry sands of the Sonoran desert, the Sonora Series of acoustical panels absorb sound to dry up echo and reverberation. The sound is lost in the landscape of acoustical fibers to improve speech intelligibility and silence room overtones. Removing the excess sound of the room improves the ability of broadcast equipment to efficiently produce crystal clear sound over the airwaves. Sonora panels mount to the walls or can be configured as ceiling tiles, baffles or clouds. Available in many standard sizes and colors, they can also be custom cut to meet specific requirements or shaped to create designs to accentuate room décor.

Soundproofing: Using Multiple Materials to Achieve Sound Isolation (Video)
When attempting to soundproof a room, there are various levels of sound isolation and many different types of materials available. How far you go with your construction will depend mostly on they type of sound you wish to abate. The acoustic solution needs to be designed around your specific application. Is it the noise of an industrial plastic shredder or speech from an adjacent office? (alt. Is it the noise of a neighboring industrial plastics shredder or do you need to isolate your studio control room?)
A typical wall construction consists of two layers 1/2″ gypsum applied to either side of a 2×4 wood or metal stud. Many of these walls for residential and commercial interiors will lack insulation in the cavities. This type of contruction will yeild an STC (Sound Transmission Loss) around 31 – 33. By simply adding a layer of fluffy glass fiber insulation to the cavity, the STC will increase by 4-5 points and prevent sonic resonance. Additionally, a layer of mass loaded vinyl barrier will add another 4-5 points. We have prepared a simple video demonstration to illustrate how using multiple layers of common building materials will improve STC values.
