Sonora® Corner Bass Trap – Low Frequency Control

Sometimes a simple solution is the best solution. That is the guiding philosophy behind our new Sonora® Corner Bass Trap. Take one 4” thick, 6-7pcf sound absorbing fiberglass panel, back bevel to fit in a corner, front bevel for a nice finished look, throw in a few corner clips for mounting, and done!
The Sonora® Corner Bass Trap was born.
This bass trap lives up to the design aesthetic and functionality of the Geometrix® Quarter Round unit, but at a lower price point with reduced weight for an easy installation. Available in widths of 24” or 18”, standard length is 4’ with custom lengths available.
The Sonora® Corner Bass Trap is a great option for studios, theaters, or any critical listening environment where broadband absorption with enhanced low frequency control is desired.

Here are a few new pics, courtesy of one of our longtime associates in New York. For this facility, they installed several arrays of our Sonora Ceiling Clouds, some of them in custom trapezoidal shapes! Sonora Ceiling clouds are often a great option in facilities with high ceilings, but limited wall space.
Case Study: Hidden Creek HOA Clubhouse

Hidden Creek – Before
Hidden Creek Home Owners Association contacted Acoustics First® to remediate the poor acoustics of their clubhouse meeting hall. Hard surfaces and tall ceilings contributed to excessive reverberation and poor speech intelligibility. The HOA board wanted to address the acoustics of the meeting hall during an upcoming renovation of the space.
Hidden Creek – Treatment Rendering: Ceiling
Hidden Creek HOA submitted pictures and plans of the clubhouse to design consultant Cameron Girard. After calculating the amount of absorptive treatment needed to obtain an ideal reverb time, he submitted a treatment proposal with Sonora® panels that would ensure a significant acoustic improvement. Cameron provided detailed renderings to the board, allowing them to better visualize the layout of the panels as they reached a final decision on treatment.
Hidden Creek – Post Treatment
A single skilled contractor installed the panels in a few days, leaving Hidden Creek residents with a much more suitable acoustic environment for meetings and small group gatherings.
The Gymnasium is Baffled!

Cloudscape Baffles
Cloudscape® Baffles are a wonderful product! This batch of baffles was installed in a middle school gymnasium/multi-purpose room by one of our dealers. Note how they were installed not just in the ceiling, but also on the walls by ‘chaining’ the baffles together. Most of the time we recommend hi-impact Sonora® Panels for the walls in school gyms such as this, but with a little ingenuity baffles can also get the job done!
